The Gentle Invasion presents a Pre-Indietracks special at Henry’s Cellar Bar, Edinburgh. We’ll be sharing the bill with our label-mates Amida and Scottish The Just Joans (WeePOP! Records)!

The Flickers are playing at Indietracks Festival this summer (26-27 July)! The festival will take place at Midland Railway, Butterley, Derbyshire. We are playing on Sunday 27th of July at the church stage. The full stage line-up can be found here.
Indietracks is a unique festival combining heritage trains and indiepop music. There will be over 60 established and new bands which include The Wedding Present, Darren Hayman, Comet Gain, Airport Girl, Milky Whimpshake, Ballboy, St Christopher, The Bobby McGees, The Smittens, Los Campesinos! Amida, Zoey Van Goey, Red Pony Clock and many many more. Guests are free to enjoy the regular facilities of the Midland Railway Butterley such as steam train rides, farm and museum! The tickets cost just £45 for the weekend or £25 for a single day. For more information, updates, band interviews, quizzes and many more you can visit the Indietracks Blog.
We are also very happy that our song “When the Sky Looks So Gray” will be included in the forthcoming official Indietracks compilation by Make Do And Mend Records. It comes as a 2 CD set and features 45 of the bands and artists who are playing at this year’s festival on 26/27th July, some of them exclusive tracks!
Hello! It took me some time to update this site, but I had forgotten how to log in… Yes, yes, I know it’s quite stupid but it’s true.
So… since the last post we have released an E.P on Cloudberry Records which is called “When the Sky Looks So Gray” or simply “The Cloudberry EP” (hard to decide). You can buy one of the last few copies here.
We are also a full band rather than a one-man project. Bart plays the guitar, Jamie plays the bass, Ryan bangs the drums, Ola sings and plays melodica, Ailig plays his delicate tunes on trumpet and I play guitar and sing. We have played a few gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow and enjoyed them all and people seemed to like it too:)
We are currently working on the second Flickers album and it’s going to be quite different and more diverse than the first one! Hopefully, it will be finished by the end of 2008 and released by Plastilina Records early next year. And, finally, we are playing at Indietracks in July (more about this in a minute)! Apologies again to anyone who happens to visit this site. Giorgos
The Flickers are terrrribly touched!
On Friday 21st of September,
Plastilina Records will be celebrating the release of
Scattered Songs!!!! If you happen to be in Lima, Peru, it would be a pity not to go to La Capilla (Boulevar Sanchez Carrion 181 Barranco). We wish we could be there…
oh, you can listen to some of the songs of our album on our
myspace!

The Occasional Flickers’ debut album is out now!
It’s called
Scattered Songs and it’s the 6th release of the fabulous
Plastilina Records.
It is recorded at Giorgos’ bedroom in Athens, Greece and mixed and mastered in London by Christos Deligiannis.
The beautiful artwork is made by Ola Rek. You can find more of her work
here.
Many many thanks to Yaniv Fridel (trumpet), Giorgos Sakellaridis (violin), Sergios Voudris (backing vocals, glockenspiel and inspiration!), Nefeli Kalogeropoulou (backing vocals) and Dimitra Daisy for participating in some of the songs. And of course to Johan Hugo for letting use
his words on
Sunwards.
The tracklist is:
1. Meaningless Words
2. A Medal Won in ‘84
3. Alarmclocks Daily
4. Flat and Grey
5. Visions of Christine
6. Sunwards
7. A Word of a Friend
8. I Love You More When You’re Asleep
9. A Coastal Ride
10. Twenty Four
Soon, you will be able to order Scattered Songs from your favourite mailorders. Until then, you can order it directly from
Plastilina Records.

Exciting news all around!
Firstly, the ‘flickers will be presenting their new album on Saturday May 27th. That one threatens to be the last-ever Sprinkled Pepper event in Athens.. and the best party ever! Click here, or on the poster above, for more information.
Secondly: yes, it is true. Mark and Lupe are coming to play. We’ll be playing with 1/2nd of Pipas and 1/4th of the Lucksmiths. How exciting is that?
And thirdly, while you’re getting excited, check this out. M. Hulot wonders where this bloke has been hiding all this time. Why, in his bedsit, of course! (And in the basement of a well-know record shop in Monastiraki, Athens.)
It took the Occasional Flickers a long time to get over the concert with Jens. It was that great. (There’s a review of it in greek
here, which gives ‘Flickers an honourary mention.) It has taken them a much longer time to record an album, but I have to tell you: they have finally done it.
The album, tentatively named ‘Scattered songs’, is now complete and awaiting mixing. Its fate thereafter remains unclear but we dearly hope it will be great.
